Child Dedication is a ceremony where parents make the commitment to raise their child in the ways of God so when they are old they do not depart from Him, Proverbs 22:6. Dedicating your child to the Lord is recognizing that as parents you are only stewards of this child that God has entrusted to you.

"I've asked for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I have asked of Him. So now I give him back to the Lord." 1 Samuel 1:27-28 (NIV)
